Jenny Kissed Me

Jenny kissed me when we met,
   Jumping from the chair she sat in.
Time, you thief, who love to get
   Sweets into your list, put that in.
Say I'm weary, say I'm sad;
   Say that health and wealth have missed me;
Say I'm growing old, but add-
   Jenny kissed me!

  • 'I have been astonished that men could die martyrs for their religion - I have shudder'd at it. I shudder no more.
    I could be martyr'd for my religion. Love is my religion.
    And I could die for that. I could die for you.'
    ~ John Keats
  • 'Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it. Bitterness paralyzes life; love empowers it. Bitterness sours life; love sweetens it. Bitterness sickens life; love heals it. Bitterness blinds life; love anoints its eyes.'
    ~ Harry Emerson Fosdick
  • 'A fastidious person in the throes of love is a rich source of mirth.'
    ~ Martha Duffy
